The agreement between you and eRoll when you create an event, and what applies to the photos your guests upload.

Refunds in one line

You can cancel a paid event and get a full refund any time before it opens for uploads. After that the payment is final.

01

Who you're dealing with

eRoll is a sole proprietorship based in Quebec, Canada. In this document, “eRoll”, “we” and “us” mean that business, and “you” means the person using the service.

Support is by email at support@eroll.app. There is no phone line. We answer in English or French.

02

What eRoll does

eRoll is a service for collecting the photos taken at an event. Guests upload from their own phones and everything ends up in one private gallery that the organizer controls.

We store photos exactly as the camera produced them. Original files are never compressed, resized or re-encoded.

03

Your account

You need an account to create events. Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you, so email support@eroll.app promptly if you think someone else has access.

One person is responsible for each event, and that is the organizer who created it. If you are booking for a couple, a company or a client, you are the one agreeing to these terms.

04

Events, pricing and payment

Each event is a single one-time payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews on its own.

The price depends on the guest tier you choose. The exact amount in your currency is shown before you confirm. Card payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card number.

A new event stays in draft until the payment succeeds. That is when it starts accepting uploads. The amount shown at checkout is the total charged to your card.

Events are priced by guest count because guest count is a reasonable proxy for how many photos an event produces. Each tier is sized for the storage and transfer a normal event of that size uses, with room to spare. If an event uses far more than its tier anticipates, or if an event is clearly being used for something other than sharing photos from an event, we may ask you to move up a tier, and we may limit or suspend uploads if we cannot reach you. This is aimed at genuine abuse. A wedding where everyone takes a lot of photos is exactly what you paid for.

05

Refunds and cancellation

You can cancel a paid event and get a full refund any time before it opens for uploads. Email support@eroll.app from the address on your account and tell us which event to cancel.

Once the event has opened and guests can upload, the service has been delivered and the payment is final. We set the cut-off there because by that point your QR codes are printed and your guests are arriving.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with. They usually appear within five to ten business days depending on your bank. Refunding an event does not delete photos that were already uploaded, so tell us if you want those removed as well.

  • Before the event opens, a full refund, no questions asked.
  • After the event opens, no refund, unless the service failed.
  • If eRoll did not work (uploads broken, gallery unavailable, photos lost), email us and we will refund you in full whatever the timing.
06

Your photos stay yours

You and your guests keep full ownership of every photo uploaded. We claim no rights over them.

To run the service you give us permission to store, process and display those photos on your behalf. That covers holding them with our storage provider, generating thumbnails for the gallery grid, and showing them to whoever you have given access to. The permission exists only so the service can function, and it ends when the photos are removed.

We do not use your photos to advertise eRoll, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to train machine-learning models.

08

Acceptable use

eRoll is for sharing photos from a real event. The following will get an event suspended:

No refund is due when we suspend an event for one of these reasons. If we get it wrong, tell us and we will put it back.

  • Uploading content that is illegal or that you have no right to share.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers a child. We report this to the authorities rather than only removing it.
  • Using an event as general file storage, or to distribute material unrelated to the event.
  • Trying to break or overload the service, or to reach another organizer's gallery without permission.
09

How long photos are kept

We keep the photos from your event for at least one year after it ends. In practice we keep them longer, but one year is what we commit to.

After that year we may delete them to free up storage. If we plan to delete photos from one of your events we will email the organizer at least thirty days beforehand so you can download everything first. You can download your originals at full resolution from your gallery at any time.

10

Availability

We work to keep eRoll running, especially while an event is live, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Parts of it depend on providers we do not control and outages happen.

We take backups and take durability seriously, but no system is perfect. If the photos are irreplaceable, keep your own copy as well. Downloading your gallery after the event is the simplest way to do that.

11

Limits of liability

If we fail you, our total liability for anything connected to an event is limited to the amount you paid for that event. We are not liable for indirect losses such as a missed opportunity or harm to your reputation.

eRoll is a small independent business and this limit is part of what makes the service possible at this price. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for gross or intentional fault.

12

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and we announce material changes by email to organizers who have an upcoming event. The terms that applied when you paid for an event keep applying to that event.

13

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and by the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes before the courts of Quebec.

If you are a consumer in Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act gives you rights that no contract can take away. Nothing in this document reduces those rights, and the law prevails wherever a clause here conflicts with it.

14

Getting in touch

Questions about these terms, a refund, or a photo you want removed all go to support@eroll.app.

If any part of this is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
